Highly accurate.
The Weihrauch HW77 K is extremely accurate. I've never had a springer airgun that could perform so flawlessly as this one. At 50 yards, it shoots well within the diameter of a pound coin.
Yes, it's got a significant twang and because of that it isn't the most silent airgun around. And occasionally the vibrations cause the screws to loosen (although I tried using LocTite several times), shifting the P.O.I., but these are all minor inconveniences compared to the fact this airgun is so very, very accurate.
I've got mine for quite some years now, and it still performs as when it was new. Maintenance has been kept to the bare minimum, meaning I wipe the gun clean every now and then, taking extra care to have a good wipe near the transferport when the cylinder is drawn back. After cleaning, one (just one) drop of oil there is plenty and the same goes for the pivoting points of the underlever and trigger. That's all I ever have done to it, besides oiling the exterior to prevent rusting.
In all those years, it never went wrong, but I always hold the underlever when loading, just to make sure the cylinder can't crush my finger. It just doesn't feel right when I force myself to fully trust the mechanism.
Great gun and nice aesthetics, but if I could suggest one thing to Weihrauch, it is to go back in stock design, as the contemporary stock is way too edgy for my liking.
The nice thing about the HW77 is the fact you can use open sights, but you can also mount a scope. I use a 3x9-42 and if I must give one point of critic, it is the fact riflescopes like these have to be mounted in such a way (to get the correct eye-relief) that they can make loading a pellet a bit more challenging, as the bell housing of the objective hangs over the part where the cylinder recedes for loading a pellet.
And that Rekord trigger, it's so smooth and yet so crisp, you just can't fault it.
If you can resist temptation and commit yourself to just buying one airgun and stick with it, the HW77 K is the one to go for. As it's a carbine version of the HW77, it's less heavy in front, making for a perfect balance. It'll give you thorough enjoyment when plinking, lets you make good progress when used in HFT and will make for an ethical shot when hunting varmint.
