Thank you Krale, you Dutch bastards! I mean that well. I ordered this 97k 2-3 months ago. Ordered from Krale because I'm cheap -I admit- they are $100-$200 cheaper than USA retailers. Not an insignificant amount! When I ordered, their website didn't say ""out of stock"", or so I remember. Anyway, it took a long time. They offered to refund my $ or give me another gun, but I declined. Smart move. Now, many USA retailers are ""out of stock"". Anyway, for any USA citizens concerned about ordering from overseas, DON'T be! Krale will take care of you. They're Dutch! What more do you need to know? Thank you Krale!
Pros:
Great gun from a great company!
Cons:
Took 2-3 months to get it. But this bullshit Covid scam is to blame, not Krale
This is my second HW97 KT. My first one had the wooden stock, this one is all black synthetic. They function the same. I've owned every Air Arms spring rifle, including several TX's, and a Prosport, and I keep records of all the targets I shoot with any particular gun I own at the time. I can go back right now and show you that my HW 97's are more accurate than any AA spring rifle, and probably more than any other spring rifle as well. Just be sure to put at least 500 pellets through it first to break in the barrel. I use mine for benchrest mostly. I let it lay on top of a Caldwell Tack Driver sand bag with the small rabbit ear bag in the rear, and never touch the gun while firing except to lightly squeeze the trigger straight back. Once you find the right pellets, usually JSB, or H&N, then weigh them within 0.10 grain, then find out which size head is most accurate using a Pelletgage, you are ready for any competition. I also use it for field target and silhouette competition. Mine is completely stock, no modifications at all. Cocking is a bit heavy, mine is 14 FPE, but with the huge loading port, it is easy to vary your cocking from right to left handed every 20-30 shots or so. I do and both arms get a work out, but I can shoot all day like this.
Krale is unbelievable, literally. This is the second time I have ordered something from them in Germany, and it got to my front door in the USA in only 4 days. That is as good as USP's Priority shipped in my own country, and way better than UPS or FedEx. The shipping fee is high, but that is how they get it to you so fast. The fact that they have the lowest prices on the product anywhere though, makes up for it, and makes them a complete winner in my view. If you are in the USA and are worried about ordering from Krale in Germany, don't be. I've had two flawless transactions with them, and one was even during the Covid-19 problem, but it still got here quickly. Several of my friends have ordered from them as well, with the same results.
Thank You Krale!
Pros:
Most Accurate Spring Gun, Looks Great, Handles Wonderfully
Cons:
Cocking A Little Hard @ 14 FPE
As above.
Pros:
Very accurate
Cons:
None
If you enjoy shooting targets in the range and like spring piston guns, then this is a great buy. Many tuning kits are available if you are put off by the sometimes harsh firing cycle and recoil; although many shooters will justifiably ask why should I have to retrofit the gun myself?
The hw97 is of little practical use in the field as it is quite heavy and unwieldy.
Pros:
Accurate gun
Very solid construction will last more than a lifetime.
Cons:
Very heavy. Not suitable for dynamic hunting situations.
After-market tuning required for smoother firing-cycle
Safety is only re-settable by operating underlever
Buy
Pros:
The gun is very nice..pellet on pellet at 25 yards...very well built..no rattling when shook..not as heavy as everyone says solid though...gun arrived in 3 days....
Cons:
Should of bought another one in 177
Phenomenal air rifle. I'm retired and haven't shot air rifles since my teens. In a hour or 2 I shot a few pellet on pellet shots at 25 yards & haven't even broken it in yet or tested other pellets. Only a couple of fliers at first but still within 4"".
Pros:
Very accurate and not very loud. Quality through and through.
Cons:
A little heavy
