Umarex UX Exclusive Gauntlet 2

This time the successor succeeds the predecessor, the Umarex UX Exclusive Gauntlet 2 has passed its older brother on multiple fronts. Its air tank is larger, the stock has been renewed, and it's capable of more powerful shots. Umarex upgraded this PCP air rifle for target shooting, plinking and hunting (national legislative approval required).

The capacity of the pressurized air reservoir has been scaled up from 213 cc (200 bar/3000 psi) to 393 cc (300 bar/4500 psi) for quite an increase in the number of shots. Filling is done easily with the built-in Foster (male) connector, without the need of a filling probe. A fully topped-off air tank is good for more than 50 to 70 consistent shots, depending on the calibre.

Its new regulator has been set to a higher pressure, which makes sure that the pellets follow a flatter trajectory, reach further and penetrate deeper into the target:

• The regulator of the .22/5.5 mm is set to 130 bar (1900 psi), which increases the muzzle velocity from 880 to 1100 fps (335 m/s)
• The regulator of the .25/6.35 mm is set to 145 bar (2100 psi), which increases the muzzle velocity from 890 to 980 fps (299 m/s)

The cocking lever has been enlarged significantly, and the lever head has been knurled for increased grip, cocking has been decreased with 15% as well. Both Dovetail and Weaver/Picatinny mounts can be mounted to the rail on top of the action. Moreover, the Gauntlet 2 features an internal silencer with four baffles, which reduces the muzzle sound by 8 dB, compared to the original Gauntlet.

This air rifle also features a newly designed, slimmed down stock, which is balanced very well. The stock features QD attachment points in the shoulder piece and M-LOK slots in the sides and underside of the forend, for attachment of extra rails for more accessories. The cheek piece can be adjusted to make the rifle fit for different shooters or for different optic setups.

The .30 version, also named the Gauntlet 30, differs from the .22 and .25 versions in some aspects:

• The regulator is set to 195 bar (2800 psi)
• Power output of 134 joules
• Offers 25 consistent, regulated shots after being filled up completely
• Features a ½ UNF muzzle thread
