Ruger Harrier

The Ruger Harrier is an affordable AR-15, equipped with an M-LOK handguard. It also comes with a Magpul buttstock and pistol grip, benefitting its ergonomics.

These ergonomic additions and the M-LOK handguard make this rifle an interesting choice. The contours of the handguard are somewhat rounded and slim, making it comfortable to handle. In addition, the M-LOK slots allow for the mounting of a plethora of accessories. These slots are present along the entire length of the rifle, both along the sides and along the bottom. Additionally, the angled sides of the handguard also feature M-LOK slots right at the front. These allow for the mounting of accessories such as lasers or tactical lights at any desired angle, ensuring the most efficient use of rail space. The handguard cannot rotate relative to the receiver, thanks to its design.

The receiver is manufactured from durable 7075 aluminium. Play between the two parts of the receiver can be eliminated using a tension screw in the lower receiver. This helps resolve the common phenomenon of slightly loose AR-15 receivers.

A Magpul DT buttstock and a Magpul MOE-K2 pistol grip provide solid control of the rifle. The buttstock is adjustable in six positions and features a QD sling mounting point. An additional QD sling mounting point is present on either side of the handguard. A Weaver/Picatinny mounting rail is present along the top of the receiver and handguard, offering mounting points for optics and other accessories.

Operation of the Ruger Harrier is standard, without ambidextrous control surfaces. This also applies to the trigger, which is a standard ‘mil-spec’ trigger, meaning it is similar to triggers on a military rifle. This, in turn, means a single-stage trigger with a relatively heavy trigger pull of around 3 kg.
