Flashlight Fenix TK20R V2.0

 This Fenix TK20R V2.0 flashlight is a new and improved version of the original, with a new Eco-mode and a considerably more powerful turbo-mode. The turbo-mode on this 2.0 version of the Fenix TK20R flashlight has an output of 3000 Lumens, which makes it three times as powerful as the turbo-mode on the original TK20R. That’s why the flashlight features Fenix’s IOP (Intelligent Overheat Protection), which ensures the flashlight will automatically switch to a less intense mode when it starts overheating.

The Fenix TK20R V2.0 flashlight is extremely easy to use, with only two buttons on its bottom. By pressing the large (circular) button halfway, the flashlight starts shining and will keep shining until you release the button. By firmly pressing the button, you can turn the flashlight on. You can then use the smaller button to switch between the various light modes. Keeping the smaller button pressed allows you to use the stroboscope function. Here’s a brief overview of the available light modes:
• Turbo mode:
3000 Lumens (56600 Candela) with a reach of 475 metres. The IOP ensures it switches to High mode after about 40/45 seconds of use.
• High mode:
1000 Lumens (17620 Candela) with a reach of 265 metres. This mode has a maximum battery life of 3 hours and 10 minutes.
• Medium mode:
350 Lumen (5860 Candela) with a reach of 150 metres. This mode has a maximum battery life of 7 hours.
• Low mode:
150 Lumens (2500 Candela) with a reach of 100 metres. This mode has a maximum battery life of no less than 21 hours.
• ECO mode:
Only 30 Lumens (490 Candela) with a reach of 100 metres. You can use the flashlight for an impressive 48 hours in this mode.
• Stroboscope mode:
This mode uses everything the powerful Luminus SFT70 LED light has to offer and it has an output of 3000 Lumens.
The Fenix TK20R V2.0 flashlight uses Intelligent Memory to remember which mode you were using when you switched off the flashlight. That way, it can start you off in that light mode when you turn the flashlight on again.

All that light is powered by a powerful and rechargeable 5000 mAh 21700 Li-ion battery. The flashlight has a different maximum battery life for each of the various modes, so it can get tricky to keep track of how much charge you have left. Especially if you’re switching between modes a lot. Thankfully, you can use the indicator towards the top of the housing to easily check the remaining charge. The battery can easily be charged by using a USB Type-C cable. The Type-C charging port is hidden beneath a twistable cover. That cover is set on thread, so you can securely cover the charging port. The Fenix TK20R V2.0 flashlight takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge.

The flashlight has a housing that is made of impact-resistant 6061 T6 aluminium and it has an anodised coating. As a result, it’s very lightweight -only about 204 grams- and it has excellent corrosion resistance. The Fenix TK20R V2.0 flashlight has an IP68 dust- and waterproof rating. This means it’s entirely dust and waterproof, so it can be submerged about 1.5 metres for a maximum of 30 minutes and still remain operable. There’s a convenient carry clip on the flashlight, as well as two slots for a lanyard.
