Flashlight Fenix TK17

The Fenix TK17 is a versatile and robust flashlight designed for tactical purposes. Its versatility, however, also makes it particularly useful for outdoor activities in the dark. This Fenix TK17 torch combines features such as an enormous range, long battery life, and durability with versatile settings, making it suitable for both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

Operation

The flashlight is operated using two buttons, both of which are easily distinguished from one another by their unequal size and thickness. The larger button functions as the on/off button. This button can also be used to instantly activate the burst mode (the brightest light setting) by pressing and holding it for half a second.

The smaller button – also known as the ‘tactical button’ – is pressed to switch between the four light intensities: low (30 lumens), medium (350 lumens), high (1000 lumens), and burst (3600 lumens). By pressing and holding this tactical button for half a second, the strobe mode is activated with an output of 3000 lumens.

Both buttons can be pressed almost silently, which is ideal for tactical purposes.

Durability

Firstly, the durability of the battery (6000 mAh), which is rechargeable via a USB-C cable. According to the manufacturer, a fully charged battery lasts 3 hours and 45 minutes of continuous use in the brightest setting (burst). In continuous use at the lowest setting, the battery lasts a remarkable 60 hours before needing to be recharged. A handy indicator above the control buttons provides insight into the current battery level. To recharge the battery, it must be removed and charged via a USB-C cable. This allows the torch to be used with a replacement battery while the other battery is charging.

Secondly the housing, which is made of a strong aluminium alloy with a matte black finish. The TK17 is resistant to drops from 1 metre high, making it impact-resistant. Furthermore, it has an IP68 rating, which means it is completely dust-tight and resistant to (prolonged) submersion in water.

Another Special feature of this Fenix TK17 Flashlight is that it is equipped with three tungsten steel breaking tips on the front end. This allows the flashlight to also be used in certain (emergency) situations, for example, to break car windows.
