The Tokyo Marui AM .45 Black is a gas blowback replica developed in collaboration with Keiichi Shigurezawa, author of the successful Japanese series Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. The AM .45 Black is based on a Tokyo Marui Detonics .45 Combat Master, with the same internals.

In the aforementioned light novel series and anime adaptation, the AM .45 ‘Vorpal Bunny’ is main character Ren’s pink-coloured pistol. This AM .45 Black is a black variant of the ‘Vorpal Bunny’. Mechanical designer Koji Akimoto and the author collaborated with Tokyo Marui on the design, to ensure that the replica looks exactly like the original.

As a brand, Tokyo Marui is synonymous with high quality. This replica certainly matches those expectations, with a smooth finish and metal surfaces on moving parts. The compact replica of the Detonics .45 Combat Master offers a solid base for the AM .45, which exactly matches the looks of the pistol from the series after some adjustments.
