Why use a pistol bag?
A pistol bag or soft pistol case is used for two reasons. Firstly, you want your pistol (or revolver of course) to be protected against bumps and scrapes during transport. Sliding and bumping will damage your gun in no time. And besides that, dirt will quickly find its way between the moving parts of your pistol. A pistol bag will offer protection against all above.
A second, but not less important reason to use a pistol bag or soft pistol case is to transport your pistol sensibly and legally. As you need to transport your pistol or revolver in such a way that it’s not immediately available for use (in most countries, please check with your authorities), a pistol bag or soft pistol case is the perfect option. Naturally, it’s specifically made for it. And t’s a sensible option too. Just imagine you’ve done the unthinkable and forgot all safety protocols. A pistol bag or soft rifle case will then be an extra assurance the trigger won’t catch behind something during transport.
Which pistol bag is best?
Depending on the intended use, we’ve got different types of pistol bags in our assortment that could be perfect for you. The simplest variant is a pistol bag that’ll hold one pistol or revolver and doesn’t have space for magazines or odds and ends. It’s and extremely light and compact pistol bag with a soft lining that’ll offer a good protection.
However, most of the time a more substantial pistol bag or soft pistol case is chosen, that’ll also hold magazines and sometimes has a document compartment too. Often, the magazines have their own compartment and at the very least they can be held in place with elastic straps, while the pistol is secured with a Velcro strap. This prevents damage by rattling. By the way, most pistol bags that we sell can hold two pistols and a selection of magazines.
If you want to be able to secure your pistol bag with a lock, please make sure it has double zippers with sliders that feature interlocking eyes. It’s through these eyes that you can put a small padlock. Most pistol bags we have, feature this option.
Buying a pistol bag
Have a good think about what you want to take with you in the pistol bag before buying one. Do you want to take one or two pistols or revolvers? Extra magazines maybe? Do you need a compartment for some documents? And does it need to be lockable?
