The Hornady Lock-N-Load Straight O.A.L. Gauge is a convenient tool to determine the proper seating depth of a bullet. The seating depth should be optimised in order to close the gap to the rifling.
To be able to use the Hornady Lock-N-Load Straight O.A.L. Gauge you need a modified case. This special case should be screwed onto the gauge before the measurement can be done. These modified cases can be purchased separately.
