KMR S-02 Open

 The KMR S-02 Open is a great choice for training purposes or to use while sport shooting. The pistol will feel like a great fit for shooters just starting out, but it’ll also allow experienced shooters to reach new heights. This Open model has a slide extension with a compensator imitator, that’s absent from the regular KMR S-02. It has three slots on top of the slide, that are mostly decorative. The steel slide is split and just the back half moves backwards, which also helps to reduce recoil.

This KMR S-02 Open doesn’t have open sights, but it does have a mount for a red dot. The mount is set in three mounting holes on the left side of the impact-resistant aluminium frame. There’s even an adjustable thumb rest on the mount’s base, which also contributes to excellent recoil control. The red dot mount takes up quite a lot of space, which could make it quite a challenge to pull back the slide, even with the diagonal grooves on both sides. That’s why the KMR S-02 Open has a slide racker. That’s a small, extended rod that’s mounted towards the back of the slide, that extends to the right side. You can use the slide racker to pull back the slide with just one or two fingers.

The KMR S-02 Open feels great to hold in your hands. There’s a rough texture on the front and back of the grip, which continues along the grip panels. You can push the top of your hand against the beaver tail firmly and you can easily feel where the grip ends, thanks to the flared magwell. As a result, you can take proper hold of the KMR S-02 Open without even looking at it. There’s an extra-large, extended magazine pin on the left side of the grip and the safety pin is also enlarged. Everything about this firearm is aimed at tactile operation, so it truly feels intuitive. The trigger’s overtravel can be adjusted and it has a very short reset, so you can easily fire multiple shots in a short amount of time.
