This HikMicro Pro 940 Nm IR Illuminator can be used in conjunction with a night vision scope. Scopes with night vision functionality amplify residual light in order to depict a clear and understandable image, which would be much harder to see with the naked eye. If there is absolutely no residual light, if the moon and stars are obscured by clouds for instance, this IR illuminator can be incredibly useful. It emits infrared radiation in whatever direction you point the illuminator in, which can be seen with a night vision scope.

That infrared radiation -that comes from a LED-emitter- has a wavelength of 940 nm (nanometres), which is too high to be seen with the naked eye. This means that whatever is being observed won’t be disturbed by the HikMicro Pro 940 Nm IR Illuminator. The infrared radiation has a range of 200 metres.

This infrared illuminator has a weight of 150 grams, which means you can hold it in your hand just fine or you can use a mount to attach it to a night vision scope. It has an operating time of 5,5 hours on a fully charged HM-3632DC battery or HM3633DC battery, which can be purchased separately.
