This Valhal Outdoor VH8L+ 8 L Dutch oven features small legs at the underside. This lets you place the cast iron pot straight onto hot coals, without smothering them and diminishing the heat. Same goes for the lid that sports small legs on top, so -when flipped over- it can double as a skillet, a cast iron frying pan.
By using the Valhal Outdoor VH8L+ 8 L Dutch oven with its lid, it can be used both as a stew pot and as an oven. For the latter, this means a layer of hot coals is put on top of the lid. The big advantage of cast iron is that it can be used on all heat sources and it can handle extremely high temperatures. The material is also great in trapping the heat, which means it won’t drop in temperature as fast after adding ingredients.
