This Stealth Cam PX20 wildlife camera features various modes with preprogrammed settings. There’s a rotary knob on the inside of the wildlife camera, which makes switching between modes a breeze. Using these modes eliminates the need for finetuning the settings, while still benefiting from the wildlife camera’s capabilities. Simply turn the rotary knob to the intended mode, close the housing and step aside within the 30 second countdown, before the camera activates. Here’s an overview of the three so-called quick sets:
Quick set 1
• Resolution: 6 MP
• Burst mode: 3 pictures
• Time-out delay: 30 seconds
Quick set 2
• Resolution: 6 MP
• Burst mode: 1 picture
• Time-out delay: 30 seconds
Quick set 3
• Video resolution: VGA (640x480p)
• Time-out delay: 30 seconds
• Video length: 10 seconds
Aside from that, the wildlife camera has a custom mode, wherein all the camera’s settings can be changed freely. There’s a choice between pictures or videos, including all the accompanying settings. Here's an overview of the options:
• Mode: choose between pictures or videos
• Resolution: high, medium or low
• Delay in seconds: 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120
• Burst: 3, 4, 5 or 6 pictures
• Video (length) in seconds: 5, 15, 30
After setting the Stealth Cam PX20 wildlife camera to the desired preferences, the Quit option -found at the very bottom of the list of options- will have to be selected. Choosing that option will begin the 30 second countdown, after which the wildlife camera will be active.
The wildlife camera has a reach of 20 metres and it uses 14 IR emitters. As soon as something passes in front of the wildlife camera in a line of 20 metres, it will take a picture or record a video -depending on the chosen settings- with a reaction time of 0.5 seconds. All pictures and videos are stored on the SD memory card and the Stealth Cam PX20 wildlife camera has room for a 32 GB SD memory card.
In addition to the options for taking pictures or recording videos, the wildlife camera also has a number of other useful functions, which can be accessed through the menu. Here’s a brief overview:
• Date: set the date
• Time: set the time
• Reset: reset to factory settings
• Delete SD: use this function to format the SD memory card
By using the Test function, which can be chosen with the rotary knob, you can check if the wildlife camera’s reach covers the desired area. After moving the rotary knob to the Test function, a green light will signal when it registers movement.
The Stealth Cam PX20 wildlife camera uses eight AA batteries.
