Tokyo Marui AA-12

This Tokyo Marui AA-12 is a highly realistic AEG airsoft replica of the Auto Assault-12 shotgun. Tokyo Marui calls it their very first AES, which stands for Airsoft Electric Shotgun. The original Atchisson Assault Shotgun saw the light of day in 1972, after which it was repeatedly modified over the span of several years. Eventually, it was renamed to the Auto Assault-12 (AA-12) and it garnered immense popularity as a result of its frequent use in movies and video games. Now, you can finally bring it on the airsoft field and it will allow you to dominate in CQB.

The Tokyo Marui AA-12 has a polymer housing with an inner metal frame and it feels very realistic. It has a weight of 4200 grams, which gives it a decent weight, further contributing to its sense of realism. The airsoft replica has an almost futuristic design, which is nearly completely sealed off. There’s a rough texture on both sides of the fore-end, which is repeated along the sides of the pistol-style grip. It’s a good texture that provides slightly more grip. You’ll find it along the sides of the magazine as well, allowing you to easily take it out or load it in. The sides of the magazine are decorated with the word Sledge Hammer, which is the nickname for the AA-12.

That magazine has a capacity of 93 BBs and the Tokyo Marui AA-12 is compatible with 6 mm BBs. The airsoft replica features a semi-automatic firing mode and a fully-automatic firing mode, which allows you to empty the magazine nice and quickly. There’s a single outer barrel on the front of the AEG airsoft replica, but by peeking inside (carefully) you’ll be able to spot the three inner barrels. The AA-12 by Tokyo Marui shoots three BBs per shot. Pulling back the charging handle -located on top of the housing- will open the ejector and reveal the three adjustable hop-ups. Each of the three inner barrels has an individually adjustable hop-up and it’s important to note that each hop-up can only be adjusted in its designated direction. The left hop-up curves the BBs to the left, the middle -highest- hop-up curves them upwards and the right hop-up curves BBs to the right. This means you have complete control of the spread of your shots.

The AA-12 airsoft replica has a horizontally adjustable rear sight and a height-adjustable front sight, which is accurate enough for CQB. There’s a removable butt plate on the back of the stock, which grants access to the battery compartment. That compartment also houses the MOSFET. There’s a red light on the inside of the butt stock that will start blinking if you connect an (almost) empty battery.
