This Owlset Day & Night Helmet Head Mounted night vision scope offers a convenient means to enjoy the functionality of a night vision scope, without having to mount one on your rifle. You can hold it in your hands and use it as such, but you won’t be using the scope to the fullest unless you’ve got it mounted on a helmet by means of a flip-up mount. It has a weight of only 245 grams.

The eyepiece has a short eye relief of 20 mm and it has a dioptre adjustment ring, that allows you to correct for a deviation of -5 to +2. The objective has a diameter of 18 mm and you can easily focus the image by rotating the focus ring. There’s a LED IR Illuminator located next to the objective, that has a wavelength of 850 nm. Infrared radiation with a wavelength of 850 nm cannot be perceived with the naked eye, meaning it won’t be noticed by whatever it is that you’re aiming at. But for you it’s like you’re shining a flashlight, allowing you to clearly observe the target.

That LED IR Illuminator naturally has an influence on battery life. This Owlset Day & Night Helmet Head Mounted night vision scope is powered by a 3.7V chargeable 18650 lithium battery. That battery lasts up to a maximum of five hours with the illuminator turned off. If it’s turned on, the battery will last about three hours. The night vision scope has a digital zoom of 3x.

It’s also possible to take pictures and record videos with the night vision scope, but you’ll have to download the app in order to do so. If you don’t have the app, you won’t be able to engage with that functionality. The Owlset Day & Night Helmet Head Mounted night vision scope has an IP66 waterproof rating. This means that it’s completely dust- and dirtproof and it means that it is water resistant. It can be sprayed (100 l/min) without running the risk of water getting in.
