Huben GK1 V3

This Huben GK1 V3 is an exceptionally powerful and accurate airgun. It’s based on the K1 air rifle by Huben, but contained in a much smaller package. It all started when Gregor Kamenšek -who had been producing video content for Huben’s K1 for a while- presented his prototype for a pistol version of the K1 back in 2020. The viewers’ enthusiasm was matched by Huben themselves and they soon started production on the Huben GK1.

The PCP air pistol by Huben is a semi-automatic weapon and it’s available for two different calibres. The magazine is attached to the system and cannot be removed or interchanged. It’s available for 5.5 mm and 6.35 mm calibre, with a magazine capacity of 19 pellets and 17 pellets, respectively. The magazine can be rotated by releasing the lever that’s located just behind the magazine. Huben advises gently lowering the lever back down after loading the magazine, instead of slamming it back down. Operating the lever gently prevents damage to the system.

The barrel has a length of 210 mm and located right below that is an 85 cc PCP-cylinder with a fill pressure of 350 bar. You can easily gauge the remaining pressure by checking the pressure gauge located on the left side of the Huben GK1 V3. The cylinder -much like the magazine- cannot be removed. Instead, you can use the fill adapter you get with the Huben to easily fill it back up. There’s a fill port located on the left side of the cylinder, which can be used to insert the fill adapter. If you want to be a little more conservative with your air, you can lower the pistol’s power. Stick an Allen key into the hole located on the grip -just behind the hexagonal trigger guard- and rotate left to increase power or rotate right to lower the pistol’s power.

The Huben GK1 V3 is a highly accurate air pistol and it will truly shine with a red dot. There’s an 11 mm Dovetail scope rail on top of the barrel shroud, which can be used to mount an adapter plate for a red dot. You can also use the excellent open sights already on the GK1 V3. The rear sight can be windage-adjusted, while the front sight can be elevation-adjusted. As a result, you can use the open sights to finely tune the air pistol to your preferences. Speaking of adjustability; there’s an end cap on the front face of the barrel shroud, which can be removed to get to the 1/2x20 UNF thread around the front end of the barrel. You can then use an adapter to put a suppressor onto the Huben GK1 V3.

One aspect of the Huben GK1 air pistol that will require no adjustment whatsoever, is the beautiful walnut grip. There’s a rough texture on both sides for added grip and there are pre-moulded finger grooves on the front. The grip feels great to hold in your hands and it makes the Huben GK1 V3 a dream to handle. You can easily reach up to and operate the safety pin on the left side of the frame with your thumb.
