The Earmor M33 is a tactical headset with a focus that extends further than just ear protection. Loud noises, like shots, are dampened by the headset, while ambient sounds are amplified instead. This is also the case for speech, which is clearly audible despite the dampening effect of the headset. The volume of ambient sound is adjustable in five levels, with an additional three levels for use of earplugs under the headset (which would add another 3 dB of dampening).

Amplification of ambient sound is made possible by two external microphones, which accurately determine the direction of the sound. The Earmor M33 is then able to reflect this in the audio, which matches the direction of the real sound. This helps the user to remain aware of the surrounding environment. In addition, the headset offers the possibility of playing dual-channel sound, if it is connected to two radios on a compatible PTT system. This allows a connection to two radios simultaneously, which, in turn, allows communication with two different users or groups.

This is not where the audio ingenuity ends with the Earmor M33, because this headset also features Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, there is the option to adjust the volume of both sides of the headset independently, with seven settings to balance the sound. As a result, the headset is adaptable to the hearing of every user.
