This Hatsan Blitz BP PCP air rifle features a semi-automatic firing mode and a fully automatic firing mode. As a result, it’s very fun to shoot with and you’ll be reloading magazines more often than not. The air rifle is available in a variety of calibres, each having their own magazine capacity:
• 5.5 mm / 21 pellets
• 6.35 mm / 19 pellets
• 7.62 mm / 16 pellets
The amount of pellets is never that high, regardless of what calibre you’re shooting with, but that doesn’t take away any of the fun of shooting in full-auto. And you can do so with some measure of accuracy, thanks to the accurate rifled barrel that’s lightly choked. The Hatsan Blitz BP has no open sights of its own, but it does have a Weaver/Picatinny scope rail for a rifle scope of your choosing. On the bottom of the fore-end -located near the 580 cc PCP reservoir with a fill pressure of 250 bar- is a second Weaver/Picatinny accessory rail, which can be used to mount something like a bipod. There’s a pressure gauge located between that rail and the trigger guard, which can be used to check the remaining fill pressure.
The synthetic stock features a height-adjustable cheek rest, which allows you to line your eye up perfectly with something like a rifle scope. Additionally, the Hatsan Blitz BP has a pistol style trigger and a rubber butt plate, which both contribute to proper ergonomics and a decent shooting posture. The fire selector is located on the left side of the butt stock and it’s very smooth to operate. The air rifle has a side lever that’s located on the right side of the frame, just below the cheek rest. Pulling the lever back will allow you to place the magazine. With a little nudge, the lever will shoot forward, loading the first pellet into the barrel. It might need a little extra push on the first one to ensure the pellet gets in there. The bullpup will do the rest for sequential shots in both the semi-automatic firing mode and the fully automatic firing mode. It will keep reloading, right until the magazine is empty. The side lever is then locked back.
