A bit of Blaser history
Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH, as the manufacturer is officially named, was started in 1957 by Horst Blaser. Driving a milk lorry, the father of his girlfriend didn’t deem him worthy of marriage unless he became a gunsmith. So that’s what he did, although he wasn’t content with just using the old methods. His focus went to making lighter and safer guns, values that are still very much at the very core of the company.
Blaser has always continued developing, welcoming the latest technology in aim to make better products. Many parts are now being machined with CNC milling machines, providing the ultimate accuracy with minimal tolerances. This helps Blaser maintain its high standards with great consistency. These are just a few of the things Blaser has looked at through both the eyes of a hunter and of a machinist, but there are many more. Take the safety for example, that literary releases the spring tension on the firing pin, decocking it automatically when the safety is on. They also developed a removable trigger unit with integrated magazine and even offer rifle scopes (more about that in a minute) that has the illuminated reticle being activated by the safety switch.
