What is an airsoft bipod?

An airsoft bipod is a two-legged support under the fore end of your airsoft replica rifle. With this support, it’s easy to hold the airsoft rifle stable and still. This will give you far more accuracy over longer distances than you could ever achieve when shooting freehand.

Airsoft gun bipods don’t weigh much, which is the whole point of them, as they’ll be attached to your replica. To keep them strong, yet light, the bipods are made from aluminium or carbon (carbon fibre). The latter is absolutely the lightest material, but aluminium _also not very heavy in its own right- has a better impact resistance. So, if you’re one of those ‘rough airsofters’, your best bet is aluminium. But if you’re a ‘sneaky sniper’ who manoeuvres slowly and carefully, carbon will let you carry the least weight with you.

Which adjustment options does an airsoft bipod have?

Lots of airsoft rifle bipods are foldable and most of the time you need that. It means the legs can be folded out of the way, making your replica rifle as compact as it was before the legs were folded out.

Almost all airsoft bipods have independently extendable legs. This’ll give you the opportunity to create a perfectly comfortable shooting position for yourself. And, as you know, a comfortable position will result in a better accuracy. But that’s not the only reason for adjustable legs, they’re also a must when you’re using an uneven surface to rest on. Some legs can also be adjusted in forward and/or rearward angle. This will let you refine your shooting position, but also lets you play with the balance of your airsoft rifle.

Other adjustment options encompass the ability to tilt or rotate your airsoft rifle, while the bipod already offers a stable support. The big advantage is that not only static targets can be aimed at, but now moving targets won’t be a problem anymore too. Especially in airsoft, this is a very worthwhile feature to consider having.

On which replicas do you use an airsoft bipod?

As you can imagine, a bipod for airsoft guns makes most sense when you’re shooting at longer distances. We’re talking snipers and DMR’s (Designated Marksman Rifle). An airsoft sniper rifle bipod could be one with fixed legs that can only be extended or one with a quick detach system, but one for a DMR -such as an airsoft M14 bipod- really needs to be foldable.

What kind of airsoft bipods are there?

For airsoft, there are three types of bipods that will be interesting. The first is a standard airsoft bipod that’s attached under the forend to a rail, such as a Weaver/Picatinny rail). There are also ones that can be directly attached the M-LOK or KeyMod slots of a handguard.

Second option has the same mounting possibilities, but this airsoft bipod doubles as a front grip. Two small foldable legs come out from the underside. These front grip airsoft bipods aren’t extendable or adjustable, but still can offer you the upper hand by offering a steady support.

As for option three; that’s an airsoft bipod consisting of two separate legs. Both legs have their own system for attachment to the airsoft rifle, be it rails or a handguard. The legs are attached to the sides of the replica and can be folded in and out, but can also be adjusted independently from each other. The advantage of this type of bipod is that the fore end of your replica will be kept empty, which means there won’t be a bipod in the way when shooting freehand.

Do you really need to ask if we've got an airsoft bipod for sale?

Of course we do! We’ve got loads of airsoft bipods for sale and your challenge will be choosing one. Still, that doesn’t have to be very hard. First you need to determine which one of the three types of airsoft bipod takes your fancy. Will it be a conventional one? The two-legged variant? Or maybe the front grip bipod? Next, you have a good look at the attachment systems available on your replica. Does it feature a Weaver/Picatinny rail or a handguard with KeyMod slots for example? Then you know which airsoft bipod to look for.

However, if you still need some advice, please feel free to ask our experts for information. They’ll listen carefully to your wishes and then give you some sound advice as for which airsoft bipod will suit your wishes and your replica best.
