What the Brexit means when shopping at Krale
[Update January 28th] Unfortunately there seems to be a massive backlog of administrative work at the UK border customs services which are already halting over 50 packages from progressing into the hands of our customers so far. Since it doesn't seem to be getting any better quickly, we're sorry to announce that we're temporarily stopping all orders to the United Kingdom until we are sure that all problems at customs services have been solved. We hope that all pending issues will be resolved quickly and we'll be able to fulfil our promises of great service, excellent prices and fast shipping to our UK customers once again in the future.
With the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, quite some things are about to change when shopping online. Your order might be detained for a bit at the border, which could mean you will have to wait just a little longer for your ordered products to arrive. Update: due to the administrative changes at the border the customs services have a serious backlog which can impact delivery times. More information at the bottom of this page.
There will also be some changes to the way VAT charges, custom duties and handling fees will be taken care of. For orders under GBP 135, which is just under 150 Euros, VAT will have to be charged by us, which we then have to declare. Above this amount the VAT and customs duties will be collected by Royal Mail from you, the customer, prior to delivery. These charges are applied on behalf of HM Revenue & Customs.
Minimum order amount for the UK
Because of the technical and administrative difficulty this creates we have chosen to implement a minimum order amount of £ 135 excluding VAT in our webshop as a temporary measure while we work on the best possible solution for the issues that arise with the Brexit. Your order will be sent VAT free by Krale, and you will pay the correct amount of VAT and customs duties to the Royal Mail on behalf of HMRS prior to delivery.

It seems a significant amount of orders sent to the UK are being held longer than expected at customs. Orders can show multiple days without an update of shipping due to a backlog of administrative work at HM Revenue & Customs. Unfortunately we do not have any means of making this process quicker, so we ask you to be patient in receiving your package. Be sure that it's on its way to you, once customs services is ready processing your package it will find its way to you quickly. Hopefully this backlog will be resolved soon.
