Product description
The Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 PE is a lightweight and compact pocket knife from the Byrd series, which can be seen as the entry level class from Spyderco. But the price doesn’t reflect the level of quality, that can be called excellent.
For instance, Spyderco has chosen 8Cr13MoV steel for the blade, with high levels of chromium and carbon in it, making it very corrosion resistant and also nice and hard, which means it’ll keep its edge for a very long time.
Opening the blade can be done with one hand, using the well-known Spyderco eye or thumbhole and as phosphor bronze pivot washers are used (bearing material), the action is both light and smooth when sweeping the blade out of the FRN made handle. FRN is very light, but also very strong and durable.
The handle is Bi-directional Textured, Spyderco’s own texture model where the texture on the front of the handle points slightly backwards and at the end of the handle points slightly forwards, making for an excellent grip in both directions of the cutting movement. Jimping for thumb and index finger provides extra grip for a good control of the Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 PE pocket knife.
To prevent the blade from closing on your fingers, a strong back lock is used and you can carry the Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 PE any way you like as the pocket clip can be mounted in four ways. Tip-up, tip-down, left or right, the choice is yours.
