The BUL SAS II Tac Comp 5" Black is a pistol based on the famous M1911 platform. A 9 mm double-stack magazine offers a capacity of 20 cartridges.
Externally, the SAS II is still very recognisable as an M1911, with some clear modifications. Additional grip is provided by serrations in the sides of the slide, both at the rear and the front. On top, two slide cuts are located right behind the front sight. The slide cuts ensure a slight weight reduction, while allowing gasses from the barrel ports to be vented upwards. Directing these gasses up helps reduce muzzle climb, an effect which is further enhanced by the integrated compensator.
Additionally, the slide is equipped with a cutout right in front of the rear sight, which allows for the mounting of a red dot. The BUL adapter plates are very thin, which is made possible by an inventive mounting of the plates on the slide. This ensures a low height over bore for the red dot, while also allowing for aiming with the iron sights through the red dot lens (co-witnessing).
The BUL SAS II Tac Comp 5" Black is equipped with an ambidextrous safety lever, making it easy to operate for both left- and righthanded shooters. Thanks to a sensitive trigger with a trigger pull weight of up to 1500 grams, a higher level of precision is possible. The trigger is also customisable as part of the link trigger system, where trigger blades can be exchanged using a single screw. The pistol’s precision is further improved by the bull barrel, which decreases both barrel vibration and muzzle climb with its increased mass. A Weaver/Picatinny mounting rail below the barrel allows for the mounting of accessories.
