Walther LG500 Itec BTe Benchrest

The Walther LG500 Itec BTe Benchrest is the very successful redevelopment of the legendary LG400 series. As the flagship of Walther’s LG500 range, this air rifle is equipped with the most advanced technological features, including the innovative electronic trigger (BTe), itec System Bedding and a Walther Visionic Match Diopter. This pre-charged pneumatic air rifle is, not without reason, the instrument of choice for many (Olympic) 10-metre shooters.

Anyone who grabs the Carl Walther brochure, will notice a vast array of abbreviations for the multiple innovations that make this 10 metres air rifle the champion that it is. Below, we’ll give you an overview, complete with a clear explanation:

Biometric Trigger Electronic (BTe)

This electronic trigger is integrated in the grip, making it part of a very ergonomic design. The 2-stage trigger is multi-adjustable:

• 1^st stage trigger weight
• 2^nd stage trigger weight
• 1^st stage length
• Trigger stop
• Height of trigger shoe
• Angle of trigger shoe

As the trigger is integrated in the grip, it will follow all adjustments that are made. The grip can be adjusted longitudinally, laterally and in height. For dry-firing, a switch located beneath the loading port can be flipped.

The BTe trigger of the Walther LG500 itec BTe Benchrest can be charged through a MicroUSB port. In 90 minutes, the battery will be full and ready for over 5000 shots. A quick charge in between will give you about 100 shots per minute of charging. To save the battery, the electronics will automatically switch off after 20 minutes of inactivity.

Stability & Response System (SRS)

Walther has gone to great lengths to provide the LG500 itec BTe Benchrest with unmatched stability. Integrated shock-absorbing mechanisms (Adaptive Inline Impulse Equaliser and pneumatic recoil damper) reduce recoil and vibration to an absolute minimum. The smooth and nearly vibration-free loading mechanism also contributes to this.

Walther Balancing System (WBS)

The Walther LG500 itec BTe Benchrest can be finetuned with 90 grams balance weights on the forend and buttstock to suit your preferences. Both the length of pull and the height of the cheekpiece can be adjusted with a stepless geared mechanism. The shoulder piece is also fully adjustable, completely stepless, in height, angle and size.

Accuracy Control System (ACS)

For the LG500, Walther has optimised the barrel profile as well as the interface between the barrel and the action. In short, everything is perfectly aligned for maximum stability and vibration control. This takes reliability, consistency, and precision to an even higher level.

ECO Valve Technology

The ECO valve technology ensures the most efficient use of compressed air. The result of this technology is not only reduced air consumption, but also lower recoil and a shorter lock time.

Walther itec System Bedding (ITEC)

With a larger surface area between barrel and stock, stress is minimised. The clamping system has lateral and elevation adjustment. The new bedding system will provide more feel between stock, barrel and action by having them act together better as a whole. Reducing vibrations is also an important factor here.

Walther Visionic Match Diopter (WVM)

The diopter on this match air rifle can be adjusted extremely stable, with a very accurate return-to-zero, thanks to the ball bearing parallel guide with micro-adjustments. To keep the sight picture as clean as possible, the elevation and windage turrets have a low profile. For this reason, the overall height of the diopter is kept as low as possible too, which assists in down-range focus. A secondary sight (slot) on top will help with rapid target acquisition.
