The Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42 is designed for use in the harshest weather conditions. Firstly, the rubber armouring on the body provides protection and a secure grip. In addition, the exterior lens surfaces feature a special protective coating that guards against scratches, oil, and dirt. Besides being waterproof and shock-resistant, the binoculars are also purged with argon to prevent internal fogging, even under extreme temperature changes.

For comfortable use with or without glasses, the eyecups can be adjusted. The binoculars also come supplied with a harness that not only keeps them safely stored but also allows them to be carried comfortably in the field and accessed quickly when needed.
