Red Dot Holosun AEMS-RD

This Holosun AEMS-RD red dot is suitable for rifles. The red dot has a supercapacitor which delivers power in case the battery dies, plus a solar panel which can power the red dot if there is sufficient ambient light.

First of all: the power supply of the optic. It is provided with two separate fail safes, to ensure maximum reliability. A solar panel is located on top of the housing, feeding the red dot as long as there is enough ambient light. As a result, the battery is only in use when ambient light is insufficient to power the optic, conserving battery life as much as possible. This also works when the battery is drained or dead; as long as there is sufficient ambient light to power it, the red dot will remain functioning.

There is also a supercapacitor present in the red dot, offering another backup in poor lighting conditions. This supercapacitor provides up to 1,200 hours of additional power to the red dot, depending on brightness- and reticle settings. It is charged by the solar panel.

The reticle itself has three variants, offering flexibility to the user. A 2 MOA dot offers an accurate point of aim, while a 65 MOA circle allows for quicker acquisition of the reticle. A combination of both offers the greatest flexibility, helping to find the point of aim while also enabling precision with the centre dot. The reticle can be adjusted to any situation with the 12 brightness settings. 4 of these settings are suitable for night vision, while the remaining 8 are suitable for daylight use.

Owing to the ‘Shake Awake’ function, the battery of the Holosun AEMS-RD red dot is conserved as much as possible. Because of this function, the red dot does not need to be switched off, as it will automatically enter sleep mode after 10 minutes of remaining still. As a result, the optic is always ready to be used, without draining the battery. The time required before it enters sleep mode is adjustable.
