The Glock 17 Gen. 5 has several new features to satisfy demanding shooters. It is based on the Gen. 4 frame but has some additional features. The finger grooves have been removed, and it has an ambidextrous slide stop lever. Also, it has a flared magwell which increases the reload speed. Besides this, the MOS (Modular Optic System) version makes for the possibility to place adapter plates on the rear of the slide, on which a red dot optic can be mounted afterwards. This MOS version also features front serrations.
The Glock 17 Gen5 comes with multiple back straps allowing the shooter to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size: short, medium and large frames. The grip angle of the pistol is not changed by back strap modifications. The reversible magazine allows users to switch the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts. This MOS version comes with four adapter plates.
