HikMicro: innovative thermal equipment
HikMicro has quickly evolved into a leading brand in night vision and thermal equipment. With a strong focus on innovation and quality, the brand offers reliable, high quality products for both professionals and the private market. And it’s the latter that makes HikMicro so interesting, as the products are also very affordable.
As HikMicro retailer, we’ve got a wide range of their products available, with a focus on night vision and thermal equipment for hunting and observation. The difference between these two is easily explained. Night vision enhances minimal traces of light, such as moonlight. It can also detect short wave infrared light, which is invisible to the human eye. That’s why it can be combined with an infrared light source, that’ll work like an invisible torch on short distances. Thermal imaging purely works with thermal radiation (long wave infrared). There’s no light source needed, so it can work in complete darkness and over longer distances.
Our HikMicro assortment
As mentioned above, we’ve got lots of HikMicro thermal equipment available for purchase. We’ll give you a global overview of the product groups:
- HikMicro thermal scope
A HikMicro scope is available in many different types, which means we’ve always got one that will perfectly suit your preferences. What they all have in common, is they’re extremely clear and detailed imaging in darkness.
Depending on the chosen model, there are many novelties to be enjoyed, such as a one shot zero, that makes calibrating as easy as tying your shoelaces. Another interesting feature that appears on a lot of HikMicro thermal scopes is an auto recording function, that automatically starts recording after a shot is registered.
- HikMicro thermal clip-on
Those who prefer to keep using their own trusted daytime rifle scope, can add night vision or thermal vision with a HikMicro clip-on. This means there’s no need to switch scopes and in addition, it means there’s no extra calibration needed either. With an adapter, a HikMicro thermal clip-on is easily attached to the objective of your rifle scope.
- HikMicro thermal camera
Our HikMicro thermal cameras come in two variants: HikMicro thermal monoculars and thermal binoculars. The most compact is a thermal monocular, which is often called a handheld. Such a device is easy to carry in your pocket and can be held in front of one eye. It’s perfect for observation.
Then there are our HikMicro thermal binoculars, that we’ve got both as night vision and thermal imaging versions. Actually, we even have multispectral binoculars that combine digital daytime view with night vision and thermal imaging. With these, you’ll get the most detailed image whatever time of the day, and whether it’s raining, foggy or in dense undergrowth. An added advantage, compared to a monocular, is there’ll be depth in the image, making it easier to estimate distances.
The most common uses for HikMicro equipment
HikMicro thermal and night vision products are used for many purposes. The most common use is for the handheld thermal monocular for spotting wildlife. This could be for hunting, but also for observation. Another thing that our thermal cameras are often used for, is for checking the insulation of houses. They make is easy to spot where heat is leaking away or where cold is coming in.
Also very popular are the HikMicro thermal scopes and thermal clip-ons. These devices are extremely advanced and most of them are suitable for use in both daytime and nighttime. During the day, they’ll act as digital rifle scopes and when it’s getting dark, the night vision or thermal imaging qualities come in to play.
All HikMicro thermal imaging equipment feature a high quality display and the NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) is lower than 35 mK (milli-Kelvin), which means the image is very detailed and even the smallest differences in temperature are clearly visible. Actually, most of our HikMicro devices have a NETD-number that’s lower than 20!
This is how HikMicro thermal imaging works
All objects with a surface temperature of 0°C will send electromagnetic waves of radiation, known as infrared. As soon as this radiation passes the objective of the thermal imaging device, it’s projected on the thermal sensor that will convert the radiation into electrical signals. These, in turn, are displayed on an OLED or AMOLED display in a colour image that’s officially called a thermogram. That’s what we know as a thermal image.
Is HikMicro a well-known brand?
HikMicro is a very popular brand that has made a big name by selling high quality thermal scopes and thermal cameras to the public, where these normally would only be available for professionals. They do this with technology developed in-house, which has been recognised for both its impressive quality and its affordability.
As a tech-company, HikMicro is specialised in SoC (System-on-a-chip) and MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical-system) design, development and manufacturing. With that, the brand has everything between four walls to implement this technology in their products. HikMicro is part of HikVision, a very big player on the global CCTV market.
