Head Lamp Fenix HM71R
This Fenix HM71R head lamp can be used perfectly in situations where you need to have your hands free. It comes mounted on a convenient, circumference-adjustable head strap. This allows you to easily light up whatever you need to, even if you need your hands for something else. The HM71R head lamp is attached to the head strap with the clip, which means you can also get it off easily. That clip allows you to attach the head lamp to your clothes or your gear and it even has a magnetic bottom, so you can even stick it onto any metal surface and shine a light that way. This allows you to use the Fenix HM71R head lamp in various ways, so you can use it in any number of situations.
Two LEDs and multiple light modes
The various light modes also add to the head lamp’s versatility. This head lamp comes equipped with a Luminus SFT70 white light LED and a Luminus CRI90 neutral white LED. One of those is used for the spotlight, while the other is used for the floodlight. One has a narrower beam, while the other throws diffuse light. Both kinds have several modes that vary in intensity and reach. Below, you’ll find an overview of the various light modes, split in a spotlight category and a floodlight category (Lumens / battery life / reach / intensity):

• Med: 200 Lumens / 16 hours / 52 metres / 686 candela
• High: 800 Lumens / 5 hours / 104 metres / 2705 candela

With light modes as powerful as these, the head lamp can overheat. The HM71R head lamp by Fenix features Intelligent Overheat Protection, which forces it to switch to a weaker light mode if it heats up above 60°C.
One button with many functions
This head lamp has only one button, which allows you to easily use the many different functions it has. This means the head lamp is very easy to operate.
Turn on/off: keep the button pressed in for half a second.
Spotlight/floodlight: if the lamp is off, you can press the button for half a second to turn it on in spotlight mode. Double-click the button to turn on in floodlight mode. If the lamp is already turned on, you can switch between the two modes by pressing the button 1.2 seconds.
Switching modes: you can switch between modes with a single press of the button while either using the spotlight or the floodlight. The Intelligent Memory Circuit function will memorise the light mode you used last and the head lamp will automatically switch to that mode if you turn it on again.
Lock: if the head lamp is turned off, you can press the button for 3 seconds to lock it. Pressing it for another 3 seconds will unlock it.
Housing and battery
The Fenix HM71R head lamp has a housing that is made of black anodised 6061-T6 aluminium and it has an impact resistance of two metres. It has an IP68 waterproof rating, which means the head lamp is entirely dust- and waterproof. The head lamp can be submerged to a depth of two metres for the duration of four hours, without any water getting in.
It features a rechargeable 21700 li-ion battery, which can be charged with a USB Type-C charging cable. Charging it will take about four hours. The charging port can be covered with the dust cover, which also preserves the waterproof rating. There’s a battery level indicator on the rear of the head lamp, which uses green and red signals to indicate how much of the battery is left. You’ll find an overview of the indications and their meaning below:
• Green light on: 100-80%
• Green light blinking: 80-50%
• Red light on: 50-20%
