H&N 5.5 mm HP 21 grain (.217) slugs are based on the hollow point bullets of H&N, but designed for use in air rifles by altering diameter, hollow point shape, lead alloy and base.

These H&N 5.5 mm HP 21 grain (.217) slugs are suitable for air rifles with a minimum power of 40 Joule and while they can be used in all air rifles, they will perform best in barrels designed for slugs. In those, they will perform significantly better than traditional diabolos.

Their extra weight and aerodynamic shape will provide extreme accuracy and give a more powerful impact thanks to a better ballistic coefficient.

The best lightweight slug.

Good alternative on windy days - the way to go with high power PCP on long range

Shooting distances 30 - 60m I bought these slugs to get
1. a better wind resistance than with my diabolo shaped JSB pellets
2. to carry more energy to the target on longer ranges
-- both wishes fulfilled
SPEED: I shot these slugs (H&N 5.5 MM HP 21 GRAIN (.217)) out of my HW100 BP (FAC) - the speed my chrono picked up was around 765 fps (233 m/s).
GROUPING: on a quiet day is good, but not as good as with my jsb pellets of the same weight.
But the moment the element wind kicks in, they are less pushed sideways so there is one main advantage over the classic diabolo shaped pellet.
TRAJECTORY: is remarkable flatter than the trajectory compared to my JSB pellets of the same weight.

Next test to do:
Shooting these slugs out of my FX Crown Continuum - with a way longer barell and so with a much higher power level ... info will follow.

H&N Slug in 21gr und .217 Cal sind in der Präzision aus meinem Weihrauch HW 100 40 Joul auf 50m nahezu gleich präzis wie Pelets. Im Edgun Leshiy bekomme ich keine Präzision > 80mm auf 50m > geht nicht; tune weiter.
