Rangefinder functions

With the Vortex Fury HD 5000 10x42 binocular, you can use three different ranging modes:

• Line of Sight: displays the straight-line distance to the target/object.
• Horizontal Component Distance: displays the horizontal distance to the target/object, adjusted for the incline angle relative to the target/object.
• Scan: allows continuous distance measurements while scanning the surroundings.

The rangefinder also offers two target modes for reliable distance measurements in different conditions:

• Best: displays the strongest distance reading, recommended for most situations.
• Last: displays the farthest distance, ideal when the target is located behind larger reflective objects such as trees or rocks.

Selecting your preferred settings and measuring the distance is done using only two simple buttons, ensuring a clear, intuitive, and one-handed operation. The lower button is used for ranging, while the upper button is used to navigate through the menu. Distances are displayed in either yards or metres, depending on your selection. The data is shown on a red OLED display, which can be adjusted to five brightness levels for clear readability, even in low-light conditions.
